What This Status Means

This status means USCIS has received your application or petition, accepted the filing fee, and sent you a receipt notice (Form I-797C). Your case has entered the processing queue. This is the first status most cases receive and confirms that your filing was accepted.

What You Should Do

1. Save your receipt number (I-797C) — you will need it to check your case status
2. Set up automated case tracking to get notified when your status changes
